aa23A tour inside the region of Chianti to discover the magic of an ancient land covered in vineyards and silver olive groves, the striking beauty of its landscapes and the fascinating charm of its castles.

Seven nights including accomodation, meals, visits to cellars and tastings in awarded wineries.

Wines: Chianti Classico DOCG; Chianti Classico Riserva DOCG; Vin Santo of Chianti Classico DOC, Chianti Rufina DOC. Most of the wineries also produce Extra-Virgin olive oil DOP.

Tour Schedule

1st Day - Arrivalaa25

Accomodation in an ancient historic estate, in Greve in Chianti.
Renaissance villa featuring a wonderful italian garden where Mona Lisa, the woman portrayed by Leonardo da Vinci, used to live with her family
, the Gherardini.

2nd Day -

Meeting with authorized guide for a walking tour of Florence city centre. The itinerary will take you through Piazza Santa Croce - Piazza Signoria - Duomo (Santa Maria del Fiore) - Ponte Vecchio - Piazza Pitti. Meal with typical fresh bakery products and Chianti wine at Cantinetta da Verrazzano.
Free Afternoon.

3rd Day -
Chianti Classico Area

Visit to the villa, italian gardens and cellars.
Visit to another prestigious winery, a pictoresque castle dating back to XV Century.
Lunch at the castle’s restaurant

aa244th Day - Through the roads of Chianti

Morning dedicated to discovering another Chianti wine, the so called Chianti Rufina.
Visit and lunch in a romantic
XII Century castle, once owned by a historic florentine family.
After lunch, return to Chianti Classico production area for visiting another famous manor. The original medieval castle was recently refurbished. A modern cellar was built just below.

5th Day -
Greve in Chianti

Morning visit to the magnificient triangular-shaped square of the town and to the tiny and precious Museum of Saint Francis.
Visit to another ancient castle. Here wine is produced since 1150! Visit to cellars, tasting of wines and lunch.
After lunch, visit to the charming citadel of Montefioralle, on the top of a hill near Greve.

6th Day -
Gaiole in Chianti

A whole day to immerse yourself in the green hills of Chianti Classico. In Gaiole, visit to the most famous and relevant castle in Chianti Classico wine history. The historic cellars of this castle have been producing wine since 1141. The manor is still owned by Ricasoli Barons, the pioneers of Chianti Classico wine. Visit to the castle, garden and cellars. Lunch in the castle's restaurant.
On the way back, visit to another great winery. An imposing castle featuring thick XV Century fortifications and a cylindrical tower.

7th Day -
Radda in Chianti

Visit to the heart of the historic Chianti Classico production area and walking tour of Radda. Radda in Chianti is a medieval town dominating the hills of Sienese Chianti. Running through the hills, the road will lead us to Badia a Coltibuono, an ancient abbey dating back to 1051.
Lunch in the restaurant of Badia a Coltibuono's estate.
