The perfect place to test your golf skills in a charming and relaxing setting. The Resort is in the surrounding of a famous Tuscan Thermal Town and offers a first class spa, including pools of warm thermal waters.
The Course
Maremma’s mild climate and nearby hot springs make this course an ideal all-year-round destination for a game. The project is the brainchild of architect Ronald Fream of Golfplan, the studio responsible for some of the most prestigious courses in the world.
The 18-hole, par 72 and 6,294 m course is gently undulating and full of hazards and bunkers defending wide and long greens.
The course is only 100m from the golf hotel and is set over 70 hectares of terrain. It is made up of some gentle slopes and ascending and descending fairways.
The realization of such a wonderful course has only been by adherence to the strict regulations governing the protection of local nature. As a result, in the early hours of the morning, deer, porcupines, hares, pheasants and many different species of birds common in the Maremma can often be seen.
The golf course uses the following types of grass:
- Fairways: Tifway 419
- Collar mix: rye-grass
- Green: Agrostis Stolonifera Pen A 4
- Rough: Festuca Arondinacea.
The course features a driving range with opposite double tee box.The southern one with 12 covered positions with video camera facilities and high-tech analysis equipment for swing correction is mainly used by the golf school, with the northern one, the Golf Clinics, near the start of the fourth hole used for regular practice and by players getting ready to play on a professional course. The practice range is set on an undulating 33,000 m2 piece of land with its four greens providing players with the sensation of playing for real, complemented by a pitching and a putting green.
